Project Objectives

The SMILE project is designed to bridge the gap between young migrants and the European labour market by developing innovative, inclusive, and practical tools for integration. Our objectives reflect both the individual needs of young migrants and the systemic challenges present in host countries.

Main Objectives of SMILE

1. Enhance Employability through Soft Skills Training

Equip young migrants with the essential soft skills needed to access and thrive in the labour market, including communication, teamwork, adaptability, time management, and digital literacy.

2. Design and Deliver Tailored Learning Opportunities

Create an innovative and user-friendly curriculum focused on real-world employability skills, supported by accessible digital tools and inclusive training methodologies.

3. Promote Social Inclusion and Active Participation

Foster the social integration of young migrants by building their confidence and encouraging their active participation in both the economic and civic life of their host communities.

4. Empower Youth Workers and Educators

Strengthen the capacity of those working directly with migrants – such as youth workers, NGOs, and trainers – by providing them with resources, methodologies, and best practices to deliver effective support.

5. Engage Employers and Build Cross-Sector Collaboration

Facilitate structured dialogue with employers and public stakeholders to create a more inclusive and responsive labour market that recognizes the potential of young migrants.

6. Foster Transnational Cooperation

Promote knowledge exchange and collaboration across Europe by involving partners from five countries, ensuring the transferability and scalability of project results.

These objectives guide every stage of the SMILE project, from curriculum design and training implementation to stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy. The ultimate goal is to help young migrants not only find jobs, but also build meaningful, sustainable careers.
